President Address
Dear Colleague The APAPARI is a specialized professional medical association established in 1997 by a group of Asian pediatricians who wished to contribute not only to the field of pediatric allergy but also to respirology and immunology. The association aims to understand the characteristics of allergic, respiratory and immunological diseases and prevent their spread in the Asia Pacific Region. To this end, we must further develop our knowledge of the fields of pediatric allergology, respirology and immunology and refine the standard medical practice in these areas. Thus, the ultimate goal of our association is to provide high quality care for patients with these diseases. In addition, we seek to maintain and advance the diagnostic and therapeutic skills of our members. As outlined on this website, we hold annual meetings in various countries to discuss and exchange opinions in the fields of pediatric allergology, respirology and immunology, and we have organized or co-organized many educational activities in these fields. In order to disseminate educational information and develop effective training programs, we want to encourage new members to join the association and participate in our activities. Relationships with associations in other organizations are also critical, in order to give voice to opinions from an Asian standpoint, we must join forces with organizations such as WAO and APCAACI (Asia Pacific Congress of Allergy, Asthma and Clinical Immunology). These efforts will help us to accomplish our major goals. As President, I am honored to continue the tradition of past APAPARI presidents. In these difficult financial times, it is my sincere hope that we will be able to continue our activities into the future. The APAPARI office would like to ask for your generous donations in order to support the future of APAPARI. Donations will be used to maintain the association’s website and to support awards such as the “Travel Awards” for those from developing in Asian countries. We look forward to continuing our partnership with you. With kind regards
Akihiro Morikawa
